With the control of communicable diseases and increasing life expectancy, newer health problems are threatening our health scenario.
During the last two decades the incidence of Chronic Non Communicable Diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, Heart Disease, Elevated Cholesterol, Cancers, Accidents, Mental illnesses have increased very much. The prevalence rates of these Lifestyle Diseases are very high in Kerala compared to other States in India.
